Privacy Policy
Effective October 25, 2026
This policy explains what information the Authors: Classic Card Game app ("Authors", "we", "us") collects, why, and the choices you have. Authors is made by Kevin Dal Porto. Contact us any time at support@authorscardgame.com.
The short version
- You don't need to give us your real name, email, or phone number to play.
- We collect only what's needed to run online games and purchases.
- Solo games show ads from Google AdMob unless you have Authors Plus. Whether those ads are personalized is up to you.
- We never sell your information.
Information we collect
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| An anonymous account ID, created automatically when you first play online | To seat you at a game, keep your hand private, and connect your purchases to you |
| The display name you type for online games, and an optional spoken version of it | So other players at your table can see and hear who you are |
| Online game activity, such as moves, hands, and scores | To run the game fairly on our server |
| Purchase history for Authors Plus (never your payment details, which Apple handles) | To unlock Authors Plus and restore it on your other devices |
| Advertising and device information collected by Google AdMob in solo games for players without Authors Plus | To show ads, measure them, and prevent fraud (see below) |
Solo games are played entirely on your device. We do not collect your contacts, photos, precise location, or microphone audio.
Advertising
Solo games for players without Authors Plus show an occasional full-screen ad from Google AdMob between games. To serve ads, Google may collect your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking), your approximate location based on your IP address, information about the ads you see and tap, and diagnostic information such as crashes and performance.
- Tracking: the app asks your permission before using your advertising identifier. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", ads are not personalized using it. You can change this any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- EEA, UK, and Switzerland: you'll be asked for your consent choices through Google's consent message before any ads load.
- Learn how Google uses this information at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Who we share information with
We use these service providers to run Authors. Each handles information only to provide its service to us:
- Supabase hosts our server, accounts, and online games.
- RevenueCat and Apple process and verify in-app purchases.
- Google AdMob serves ads in solo games, as described above.
- Google Cloud Text-to-Speech turns the narrator's lines, which can include players' display names, into speech.
Other players in an online game can see your display name and your public game activity. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account ID, display name, and purchase records while you use online play, and online game records for as long as needed to run and support the game. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.
Your choices and rights
Email support@authorscardgame.com to access, correct, or delete your information. Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights, including to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your local data protection authority. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device.
Children
Authors is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date above.
